Celebrating Achievement

"Pupils have flourished in the welcoming, inclusive, nurturing environment that leaders have created "

Ofsted 2019

It is always a pleasure to recognise and celebrate a student’s achievements in the school and beyond, at all levels.

A system of rewards promotes hard work and all students build a profile of their personal achievements, culminating in a Progress File document, which they receive after their five years at Putteridge.

Each term students receive a Student Progress Review Report, which is sent electronically to parents and carers.  This gives a snapshot of each child’s progress towards targets as well as an indication of their attitude towards learning.  Students receive reward points, as well as privileges that ensure they are rewarded for making positive choices about attitude and behaviour.

We hold special celebration assemblies when students are awarded Achievement Certificates, the different colours denote the number of points that students have accumulated.

Each month, Subject Leaders and Pastoral Leaders nominate students for Student of the Month, these awards commend excellent progress in a subject area or excellent contribution to the House.  There are also awards for Headteacher's Student of the Month, for students who have gone above and beyond expectations to be excellent ambassadors for the school.  During the Summer Term there is a special awards evening for all of the students who have been nominated throughout the year for the student of the month awards.

Prior to leaving Putteridge High School, students in Year 11 organise a Prom, where students and teachers join together to recognise the contribution the students have made to their five years at Putteridge.  We are always pleased to hear of the progress that our students have made in further and higher education, and employment. Many take the opportunity to come back and visit and tell us about their progress.
