Examinations
Like them or loathe them, exams are an important aspect of every child's education.
All students will study courses that lead to a qualification whether that is a GCSE, a BTEC or another kind of qualification and all will have to sit an exam to complete the course.
We want to ensure that every child is as well prepared as possible before they sit their exams at the end of Year 11 and so we give them lots of practice. All year groups have end of year exams, which are held in examination conditions, as though they were the real thing. It is important that students learn from an early age how to revise effectively and learn some of the techniques that will ensure they answer exam questions correctly.
We have an excellent examinations coordinator and team of invigilators who ensure that all exams, whether internal or external, are managed well and are compliant with Examination Board Regulations.
The large majority of students will sit their exams in the main examination hall; a few students with special requirements will sit their exams in a separate room where the appropriate support will be provided. It is the decision of the examination boards, not the school's decision, as to whether a student is able to benefit from examination support.

Results Day - 2026
In alignment with other local secondary schools, students will now be permitted to collect their results from 9:00 am, rather than the previously advertised time of 10:00 am on Thursday 20th August 2026
For students who are unable to collect their results in person, the following alternative arrangements are in place:
- Online Access: Results will be available to view online via the MyChildAtSchool (MCAS) portal from 10:00 am.
- Collection by a Third Party: If a family member or friend is collecting results on a student’s behalf, the student must email written authorisation from their school email account in advance to centraladmin@putteridgehigh.org. The designated collector must also present photo identification upon arrival.
- Postal Delivery: Any uncollected results will be posted to the home address we have on file. Please ensure you notify the school in writing of any recent address changes by Tuesday 18th August 2026.
We wish you the very best on Results Day.
